With the inaugural Optasia Squash Super League just around the corner, we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about the teams, format, rules and more…
When does it take place?
The Optasia Squash Super League will run between November 15-30 May, with a finals night – date to be confirmed – bringing the inaugural season to a thrilling climax.
All match days get underway at 19:00 (GMT), with the full fixture list available to view by clicking here.
Which teams are involved?
There will be six elite teams representing clubs from across England – the Bexley Ballers, Bristol Buccaneers, Chichester Centurions, Coolhurst Cavaliers, Leamington Royals and the St George’s Hill Knights.

What’s the league format?
The six teams have been divided into two groups:
Group A: Coolhurst Cavaliers, Leamington Royals, Bristol Buccaneers
Group B: Bexley Ballers, Chichester Centurions, St George’s Hill Knights
Each team will play every other team in their group twice, once at home and once away. In addition, each team will also play one team from the other group twice (once at home and once away).
All results will contribute to a single league table. At the end of the regular league season, the two teams with the most points overall will advance to finals night, regardless of which group they’re in.
Teams will gain a point for each match won and will receive an extra bonus if they win the tie.
When a tie finishes 2-2, the winner of the U25 match will receive the bonus point for their team.
How will a match day work?
All fixtures will get underway at 19:00 (GMT) and consist of four matches, featuring: two professional male players, two professional female players, two players under 25 (alternating between male and female each match day), and two club heroes.
Each match will offer a fast-paced ‘best-of-three’ scoring format, enhanced by a sudden-death scoring system if tied at 10-10.
Each individual match will earn the player’s team one point on the night of the fixture.
If teams are tied on total matches won after all four fixtures, the overall result will be determined by the total number of games won, and then the points scored by each team across all matches if still tied.
If teams still can’t be split, the result will be decided on whose U25 player won their individual match.
How can I watch it?
The Optasia Squash Super League will be available to watch live and for free on SQUASHTV.
